What's our aim? Simple:
A daptive
I nclusive
M artial arts
Martial arts adapted to you
Not you adapted to martial arts
We're all different, obviously, but some of us are a little more different than others and this shouldn't present barriers to learning new skills.
So we've done all we can to kick, chop, punch, and generally SMASH those barriers down and make martial arts accessible for everyone.
It doesn't matter if you've got a bad back or dodgy knee,
autism or ADHD,
hearing loss or problems with mobility,
sight impairment or OCD,
just feeling your age at 93,
arthritis or a hidden disability,
Every body is welcome at Plan C.
Okay, that was really cheesy but you get the idea!
Our Story
At Plan C Training, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to experience martial arts.
Our training is designed to be inclusive, adaptable and welcoming to people of all abilities and disabilities. Whether you're completely new to martial arts, looking to improve your fitness and confidence, or want to develop practical self-defence skills, we adapt our training to the individual.
You don't have to fit the martial arts. We make the martial arts fit you.
All abilities. All experience levels. Everyone welcome.
Our instructors understand that every person is different. You may have a physical disability, sensory impairment, autism, a learning difficulty, an additional need, or simply feel, rightly so, that a traditional martial arts class isn't designed with you in mind - because they weren't.
Traditional martial arts have their place and the world really need to keep those traditions alive.
But we don't believe that everyone should have to train in exactly the same way simply because that's how something has traditionally been taught.
Martial arts have evolved throughout history.
We think the way we teach them should evolve too.
That's exactly why Plan C Training exists.
Adaptation isn't lowering the standard.
It's changing the route.
Exercises, techniques and activities can be adapted to suit your individual abilities, allowing you to train safely, develop at your own pace and achieve your own goals.
And this isn't just something we say.
We're disabled ourselves.
We understand from personal experience that disability doesn't mean you can't learn, train, improve and enjoy martial arts. Sometimes you just need a different approach.
Martial Arts That Adapt to the Individual
Our freestyle martial arts training draws from a range of martial arts and self-defence disciplines, giving us the flexibility to adapt techniques and training methods to the person in front of us.
You don't need to be strong, flexible, athletic or experienced to start.
We work with what you can do and help you develop from there.
Our aim is to help you build:
Confidence
Fitness
Co-ordination
Strength and mobility
Awareness
Resilience
Self-belief
Practical self-defence skills
A sense of achievement
Most importantly, we want you to enjoy your training.

All our classes welcome adults and children of different abilities and experience levels.
Whether you're looking for martial arts for yourself, a class for your child, or an inclusive activity where the whole family can train, we'd love to hear from you.
No previous martial arts experience is required.
Nervous about starting?
That's completely understandable.
You don't need to walk through the door already knowing what you're doing, that's what our team is for, to answer your questions and teach you what you need to know to advance.
We'll talk to you about your needs, your abilities and what you'd like to achieve, then work out how we can adapt the training for you.
If you're unsure whether martial arts could work for you, please ask us.
There is no such thing as a silly question.
